| SPEAKER_00 | procedural I have Councilor Matuszki. Here. We have three members. We do have a courtroom. Can we all please rise and salute our flag? I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. All right, the first item of business, actually, I'm gonna read both because it's the same petitioner. So we have two items. The first is a petition of my counsel, Stephanie Miles, as president. A petition requesting a new tire repair license for Bell's Tire and Auto Services at 1865 Revere Beach Parkway. The second item is for a new mechanical repair license for Bell's Tire and Auto Service at that same address. |
| Holly Garcia | Second. |
| Wayne Matewsky | procedural Motion is made and seconded to take both motions collectively. All those in favor? Aye. All those opposed? The ayes have it. |
| John Hanlon | housing The place, I was amazed. It was so nice and comfortable. We don't need anybody. It was just a good time. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Well, we'd like to meet the new business. Could the Mel's Tire Company people come forward, please? So moved. Second. Hi, Melina, is it? |
| SPEAKER_03 | Melina. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Melina, could you just say your name and where you reside? |
| SPEAKER_03 | My name is Melina Polanco. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Where you live? |
| SPEAKER_03 | With them what? Oh, I live in Swampscott, Massachusetts. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Okay. And Councilman Hanlon said that he viewed your operation and it's very clean. |
| SPEAKER_03 | Thank you. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Could you tell us a little about what your plans are to do over there? |
| SPEAKER_03 | transportation My plan is growing. We have a couple of locations, two in Lynn, one in Chelsea. I saw the opportunity, very hard to get into Route 16. Trotter crop, tires, mechanic. |
| Wayne Matewsky | You repair tires? |
| SPEAKER_03 | Yeah, sales tires. |
| Wayne Matewsky | And mechanical work? |
| SPEAKER_03 | Mechanical work, yeah. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Okay, we have Councilor Garcia. |
| Holly Garcia | Thank you, Mr. Chair. So my question is, you have other locations, so this is the same type of service that you provide there that you'll be providing here? |
| SPEAKER_03 | Yes. |
| Holly Garcia | Excellent, thank you. |
| SPEAKER_03 | Thank you. |
| John Hanlon | No, like I said, Mr. Chairman, the place was very neat, very nice. I saw a couple of vehicles in there. Very good. It's a family business, is it? |
| Holly Garcia | Yes. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Oh, that's good. Counsel Garcia? |
| Holly Garcia | Thank you, Mr. Chair. Sorry, one other question. What will your hours of Operation be? |
| SPEAKER_03 | 9 to 9 p.m., if it's possible. Monday through Sunday? Monday through Sundays. Sundays, 9 to 4. Okay, thank you. You're welcome. |
| Wayne Matewsky | There's a lot of competition for tire companies on the parkway, I noticed. |
| SPEAKER_03 | Yes, I actually work with Town Fair. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Oh, you do? |
| SPEAKER_03 | Yeah, I buy a lot of inventories from them. So we've been doing business since like 17 years ago from Lynn location. |
| Wayne Matewsky | So you've been around the block in this business. Yes. Well, we want to welcome you to Everett. |
| SPEAKER_03 | Thank you. |
| Wayne Matewsky | public works transportation You know, the parkway just got done over with the hardtop and the crosswalks, and we're very thankful for that. So it's got a whole new look to it. We want to keep it clean. And I've just been informed by Mr. Burley, the clerk of committees, that all your paperwork is in with the fire department, with the building department, and so forth. So we appreciate you opening up here in Everett. And there will be a motion? |
| Holly Garcia | Motion to excuse our guests for the customary things. |
| Wayne Matewsky | The motion's been made and seconded to excuse our guests. And good luck, Mrs. Belianco. |
| SPEAKER_03 | Thank you so much. Thank you for the opportunity. |
| Holly Garcia | And second motion would be favorable action. |
| Wayne Matewsky | procedural Motion's made and seconded by Mr. Hanlon for favorable action to send this to the council tonight. All those in favor? Aye. All those opposed? The ayes have it. Ms. Blanco, at the regular meeting of the city council at 7 p.m., this will be on the agenda, and it should be a little quicker tonight. We don't have much on the agenda tonight. So if you want to stick around for that final approval, the whole council has to vote for it now. Thank you very much. |
| Holly Garcia | Motion to adjourn. |
| Wayne Matewsky | Motion's made and seconded for adjournment. All those in favor? Aye. Aye. |
| John Hanlon | Okay. |
